Crowdfunding & Product Launch
Fund at 60 backers
and still get made.
For Kickstarter and Indiegogo founders launching a drinkware product. The hard part isn't the campaign — it's that you have to promise a delivery date before you know whether 60 people or 6,000 will back you, to a factory that wants 500 units minimum either way. Bulk MOQ 50 pcs per SKU. One prototype for your campaign video. NDA before you show us anything.
Campaign Basics
Why Campaigns Miss
Campaigns rarely fail at funding. They fail at fulfilment.
The delivery date in your campaign page is a promise made months before you know your numbers. These are the three places that promise usually breaks.
You funded — but under the factory minimum
A campaign that lands at 180 backers is a success on Kickstarter and a rejection at a factory quoting 500 units. Our bulk floor is 50 pieces per SKU, so a modest campaign still goes into production at a real per-unit price instead of forcing you to eat the gap.
The prototype and the product are different objects
A 3D-printed dummy photographs well and tells you nothing about how the lid seals or how the finish wears. Order one real production piece before you shoot the video — the thing in your campaign footage should be the thing backers receive.
The date was set before the calendar was checked
Sample and bulk each have a real duration, and freight after that. Most slipped campaigns picked a delivery month first and worked out the production schedule afterwards. Do it the other way around — the calendar is below.
Work Backwards From The Promise
What has to happen before, during and after the campaign.
Same production durations we quote everyone else — placed against a campaign timeline so you can pick a delivery month you can actually hit.
| Campaign Phase | With Us | What It Buys You |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-launch | NDA + quote, Day 1–2 | A costed per-unit number before you set reward tiers, so your pricing has margin in it rather than hope. |
| Pre-launch | Prototype, Day 5–18 | One real production piece to film, photograph and hand to people. Sample fee refundable against the bulk order. |
| Campaign live | Nothing to do here | Your money is in the campaign, not in our invoice. We hold the slot; you run the campaign. |
| Funded | Bulk production, Day 18–35 | From 50 pieces up. Same line and same QC whether you funded at 60 backers or 6,000. |
| Fulfilment | Ship DDP, Day 35+ | Duties, customs and freight to the US, EU, UK or AU — or FOB Ningbo into your own fulfilment partner. |
A new mould adds its own lead time on top — see custom OEM / ODM below before you promise a date on a shape that doesn't exist yet.
Design Your Tiers Around The Maths
Every colourway is its own 50.
The 50-piece minimum is per SKU, not per order — and a colour, a capacity or a different lid each make a new SKU. Founders design a six-variant reward table, fund at 200 backers, and then discover they've committed to 300 units of stock they didn't sell.
- checkLaunch on two colourways, not six. Add colours as stretch goals once backers have voted with money.
- checkMake the second tier a bundle, not a variant. Two of the same bottle costs you nothing in extra SKUs; a different lid does.
- checkPrice the tier off the real EXW band. Our per-unit rates are published — build the reward price on the actual number, not an estimate.
- checkLeave headroom for overshoot. If you fund at 5× we scale on the same mould and the same line — the per-unit rate steps down at 500+ and 5,000+.
Two Routes To A Launch
Does your idea need a new mould, or a new skin?
This decides your budget and your calendar more than anything else. Be honest about it before you pick a delivery date.
A running mould, your identity
Your colour, finish, logo, lid and packaging on a body that already exists and is already validated in production. No tooling cost, no tooling lead time. Most drinkware campaigns are actually this — the differentiator is the brand and the artwork, not the geometry.
How private label works →A shape nobody else has
If the product IS the invention — a new lid mechanism, a body geometry, a function that doesn't exist yet — we tool it from your CAD or sketch. Mould costs, the 3D-print proof step and sample sign-off are all set out in the open on the OEM page rather than quoted as a black box.
Mould costs and the tooling path →Common Questions
What founders ask before they launch.
What if my campaign only half-funds?
You can still produce. Bulk MOQ is 50 pieces per SKU, so a campaign that lands well below its target is still a real order here rather than a conversation about eating the shortfall. The per-unit rate is higher at 50 than at 500 — that maths is published, not sprung on you afterwards.
Can I get a real prototype for the campaign video?
Yes, and you should. Sample MOQ is 1 piece and it comes off the same line as bulk, so the object in your footage is the object backers receive. Allow roughly Day 5–18 from artwork sign-off, and note the sample fee is refundable against your bulk order.
Will you sign an NDA before I show you the concept?
Yes. Send your NDA before any drawing or artwork. CAD and files are stored per project rather than in a shared library.
Do you need payment during the campaign?
No. The quote and the prototype come first; bulk production starts after you are funded. Payment terms for the bulk run are confirmed in writing on the quote.
How long between funding and backers receiving the product?
Roughly Day 18–35 for bulk production once artwork and sample are approved, then DDP freight on top. If you have not run the sample stage before the campaign, add that duration too — which is the argument for doing it beforehand.
What if the product needs a mould that does not exist?
Then we tool one, and the calendar is longer. Mould costs and the tooling path are set out on the custom OEM / ODM page — read that before you commit to a delivery month, because tooling lead time is the single most common reason a campaign slips.
Can you ship to backers in different countries?
We quote DDP to the US, EU, UK and AU with duties, customs and freight handled, or FOB Ningbo if you are running your own fulfilment partner for backer distribution.
